Deflect

The screen-time blocker you have to convince.

Deflect locks the apps that eat your day. To get one back, you have to make your case to an AI that remembers your excuses, and it can say no.

Coming soon to iPhone
Instagram is locked
I need Instagram for 10 minutes. It's for work.
Last Tuesday "for work" turned into 48 minutes. What do you need to post?
One story for the shop.
Okay. Five minutes, then it locks again.

How it works

The person who sets the limit is the same person who wants to break it. Deflect stands in between.

1

Pick what to lock

Choose apps, websites or whole categories. Lock them on a schedule, with a focus timer, or after a daily limit.

2

Ask for time

Tap "Ask Deflect" on the lock screen and say why. It asks a question or two and might want a photo as proof.

3

Get a yes, or a no

Deflect weighs your reason against your goals and your track record, then grants a few minutes or holds the line.

Built to hold

No override button to tap when nobody's looking.

It remembers

Deflect keeps track of what you asked for and what you promised, and brings it up next time.

Hard mode

Lock it in so blocks can't be paused or undone until they end.

Emergency passes

A small number of no-questions-asked passes for when you really need one.

Pick its voice

Supportive and encouraging, or blunt and funny if you're 18 or older.

See your progress

Screen Time charts and how many hours you've taken back.

Private by design

Your Screen Time data never leaves your iPhone. No ads, and we never sell your data.
